TÜV certified safety system offers flexibility

07 May 2013

Sigmatek has introduced a slim and cost-optimised safety system which, it says, can be flexibly tailored to the specific requirements of an application - in the control cabinet as well as in a decentralised machine and system environment.

The S-DIAS modular safety solution consists of an SCP 020 Safety CPU, which monitors the application and controls the respective safe I/Os. Here, the SDI 100 with 10, two-channel digital inputs and the STO 040 with four two-channel relay outputs as well as a module with two two-channel rely outputs are available (SRO 040). With dimensions of 12.5 x 72 x 103.5mm, the Safety I/Os are packaged the same as the standard modules of the series.

The S-DIAS Safety system is designed for high safety requirements and can be seamlessly and flexibly integrated into the company’s standard system. Through this complete integration, the shortest signal processing reaction times are reached - These are in the range of a few milliseconds. Uncomplicated installation and comfortable programming with the LASAL Safety Designer contribute to the reduction of engineering costs. In addition, S-DIAS Safety can be used as a stand-alone solution.

The S-DIAS Safety system is said to be suited for use in various industries and is TÜV-certified in accordance with SIL 3, SIL CL3 in accordance with IEC 62061 and EN ISO 13849-1, Category 4, PL e.
