Global training in NDT techniques and technology

17 April 2012

Inspection Technologies, a GE Measurement & Control business, has announced the introduction of GE Inspection Academy, a global training and knowledge-sharing program for customers and employees.

The GE Inspection Academy is designed to provide access to the latest non-destructive technologies (NDT) as well as training in the application of a range of NDT modalities to help customers improve their probability of detection, boost productivity, establish lifelong career skills and build confidence for better decision making.

Classroom training is currently available in the newly created Inspection Academy headquarters in the US with additional classroom and workshop facilities being established elsewhere across the globe in GE application centers and select partner and academic institutions. Additionally, online training resources are also available, with optional hands-on training provided at designated locations.

Commenting on the launch, Jeff Anderson, technology leader at GE’s Inspection Technologies product line, said: “The GE Inspection Academy was established to help our customers and employees gain a deeper understanding of these new technologies while providing comprehensive training in their many applications."

The GE Inspection Academy will offer courses in all the major NDT modalities, including ultrasonics, radiography, eddy current and remote visual inspection. The initial focus will be on Level I and Level II certification to accepted accreditations.
