Ways to use USB in embedded control systems

Micro Digital released a white paper entitled ‘Ways to Use USB in Embedded Systems’ written by Yingbo Hu, R&D embedded software engineer, and the company’s president, Ralph Moore, which presents 11 methods to use USB in embedded systems. Each method’s description includes a block diagram showing how software and hardware function blocks connect together, along with a description of how the subsystem operates.

PC to Device via USB Serial
Examples are: PC to device via USB Serial, PC to device via USB disk, Web server access via RNDIS (Ethernet over USB), USB multi-port serial device, USB thumb drive support, USB to WiFi, and connection to multiple sensors and actuators.
