Endress+Hauser AG (Reinach, Switzerland) is reinforcing its top management level and expanding the Executive Board of the Group. “We want to be able to meet the challenges of our expanded company and set the course for continuing growth,” explains CEO Klaus Endress. The impetus for these changes is the retirement of Dieter Schaudel, who will be leaving the company by the end of June at the age of 65. As Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) he has been responsible for technology, engineering and IT on the Executive Board. “We have taken this opportunity to restructure our top management level,” comments Klaus Endress. The Board will be increased from four members to eight. “The tasks and responsibilities on the Executive Board will be spread over more shoulders. In doing so, all the functions and processes in the company should be well-represented.”

Klaus Endress will continue as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The 59-year-old graduate industrial engineer, son of the company founder, has headed the Endress+Hauser Group since 1995. In addition to over-all management, he will place a high priority on supporting the company’s production centers. Michael Ziesemer (57), responsible on the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing, will retain this focus. As Chief Operating Officer (COO) he will assume additional duties and will also be the deputy to Klaus Endress. The graduate electronic engineer has worked in leading positions at Endress+Hauser for the last 27 years. Fernando Fuenzalida remains Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Endress+Hauser Group. The 65-year- old graduate engineer has been responsible for Finances and Controlling within the company for ten years now.

Roland Kienzler, Corporate Director of Human Resources, will take up a new seat on the Executive Board. The 41-year-old HR specialist has been responsible for personnel matters at Group level for three years. Also appointed to the Executive Board is Dr Heiner Zehntner (43). The attorney-at-law is Secretary of the Supervisory Board and has been Legal Counsel for the company since 2005. As co-ordinator of the sales centers, Nikolaus Krüger will take a seat on the Executive Board. The 48-year-old marketing specialist has worked for Endress+Hauser since 1988 and has been responsible for marketing across the Group.

Amongst the new members of the Executive Board is also the mechanical engineer and economist Pieter de Koning (47). Born in the Netherlands, and previously employed in the pharmaceutical industry, he will be joining Endress+Hauser on 1 September 2008 and will be responsible for Logistics, IT and Organization. Finally, the future coordinator for the production centers will also join the newly expanded Executive Board. He is to take up his new position at Endress+Hauser in the near future.

The appointment of Mr. Ziesemer as COO will be effective from 1 July 2008. All the other new members of the Executive Board will be appointed by the Supervisory Board of Endress+Hauser AG as of 1 September 2008.

The company will bid farewell to Dieter Schaudel on 27 June 2008 at an expert forum in Reinach covering “Technologies for the automation of tomorrow”. More than 160 invited guests are expected. “Mr. Schaudel has worked with Endress+Hauser for over 26 years. He has pioneered many changes in the areas of strategy, technology, IT, patents and public relations We wish to express our grateful thanks to Dieter Schaudel”, emphasizes Klaus Endress.
