Production Software for Batch Production Firms
16 June 2008
New GTMA member, PSL, is the company behind DataTrack, the leading manufacturing software for subcontractors and batch manufacturing or assembly.
DataTrack does the job of a MRP system but is more targeted and requires fewer resources to implement.
DataTrack increases productivity by handling estimates, quotations, sales orders, purchases, scheduling, invoicing, job costing, tooling and gauge management, finished goods and material stocks, documentation and customer queries. Production overheads are significantly reduced and personnel are freed for managing – rather than fire-fighting.
'Owners and managers of batch-oriented or bespoke production facilities have usually invested in high-tech machines and equipment, only to see the advantages eroded by administration overheads and problems,' says PSL managing director, Jim Kelly. 'DataTrack demonstrably enhances the skills and capacity available in the organisation.'
The DataTrack manufacturing software system is modular and can build with the growth and confidence of the customer. According to Geoff Gartland, director of software development: 'Most of our customers start with the core of DataTrack and add functionality as they feel able.' PSL provides comprehensive training and support at each and every stage so the client is constantly feeding back requirements and any need for assistance. 'PSL prides itself on being very close to every customer so that the software is constantly evolving according to the needs of industry,' continues Geoff.
PSL has been welcomed into the GTMA by director Julia Moore. 'We are extremely pleased to have software specialist PSL DataTrack on board,' enthuses Julia. 'The company is well known for its comprehensive production software and the benefits it brings, we are looking forward to working together and helping to provide feedback to PSL to develop the software for the next generation.'
