Gateway offers cyber security even in rugged applications

The openness of today’s IIoT infrastructures poses an increased cyber security threat due to the vulnerability by the use of networks for IT/OT convergence. This has exposed exploitable opportunities for hackers. To add confidence in industrial control system (ICS), Lanner has introduced its next-generation industrial cyber security gateway.

The LEC-6041 is the successor to the LEC-6021, and is a gateway designed to protect the communication in both IT and OT domains. It is powered by Intel Atom x7-E3950 or x5-E3930 for low power consumption and high processing performance. As the next-generation security gateway, LEC-6041 possesses two key hardware features, including programmable LAN bypass technology and TPM 2.0 onboard.

Providing a rugged firewall suited to use in challenging environments, it is compliant with IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613, as well as 1.5 KV magnetic isolation protections for LAN port and 15KV ESD Protection for I/O ports. The system can operate in an operating temperature of from -40°C to +75°C.
