Smart manufacturing activities launched by MESA

23 July 2018

The Manufacturing Enterprise Solutions Association (MESA) International is planning a series of activities to uncover common ground in smart manufacturing.  Activities will include the formation of MESA Smart Manufacturing Community Groups and a year-long, use case-based research programme on successes and challenges in deploying Smart Manufacturing solutions.

IQMS, a manufacturing ERP software and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) company, has signed on as the first sponsor of these activities and will also sponsor MESA’s Smart Manufacturing Working Group.

Commenting on the initiatives, Conrad Leiva, chairman of the MESA Smart Manufacturing Working Group and VP Product Strategy and Alliances for iBASEt, said, “Smart manufacturing is in its infancy, so we want to take stock of what companies are doing now. We are seeking common ground for Smart Manufacturing, exploring what companies need to move forward with more confidence.”

Community Groups allow non-members to join discussions on relevant industry topics alongside current MESA members – an option that was not previously available.  Once inside a Community Group, activities include regular peer meetings among practitioners, webinars, gathering and publishing case stories of what companies are doing now, workshops, executive roundtables, and an on-line survey.

Manufacturing practitioners and executives can join a Community Group and find out more about the program here: http://www.mesa.org/en/mesa-s-smart-manufacturing-community-program.asp
