Dual LAN gateway solution for machine vision and IIoT applications

28 January 2018

RDS is launching the PICO-KBU4, a palm-sized PC that supports machine vision and other IIoT applications requiring a compact Intel Core i3, i5, i7 solution.

By using these ultra-low power processors and placing the CPU on the solder side, designers can manage the thermal challenge of high-performance processors in a compact environment.

This board boasts up to 16GB memory capacity via a DDR4 SODIMM and also offers a wide range of I/O including dual Gigabit Ethernet support, 2x USB 3.0 and 2 x USB 2.0 ports.

For storage there is 1 x SATA 6.0Gb/s. The board supports 2 channel LVDS displays and HDMI 1.4b as well 2 communications ports: Com 1 with RS-232 and Com 2 with RS 232/422/485. Finally, it has two M.2 Interface slots, one B Key (2242) and one E Key (2230).

Designed for 24-hour operation, with customisable BIOS, the card offers a range of connectivity that can be expanded through the local expansion bus.
