Tagsys and Sirit unite
05 March 2008
Tagsys has joined forces with Sirit in a move claimed to offer customers high performance, item-level UHF RFID infrastructure.
Tagsys' RFID infrastructure and Sirit's UHF reader technology combine to deliver high-performance RFID systems
The new technology partnership will combine Tagsys’ RFID systems and software with Sirit’s UHF reader technology and is hoped to reduce engineering costs for a broader range of applications in many industries.
Tagsys will release its RXU400 UHF fixed reader built upon Sirit’s INfinity 510 platform. Tagsys will incorporate the RXU400 into its Six Sigma capable tunnel systems as well as other application stations. As part of the agreement, Sirit will deliver a customised version of the IN510.
Concurrently, Sirit will certify its INfinity 510 platform and the RXU400 for compatibility with e-connectware. Tagsys’ robust software platform, e-connectware, remotely manages and optimises RFID networks in real-time.
’Bringing together complementary technologies from Tagsys and Sirit represents an important milestone in our ability to bring the best technology to our customers. This results in integrated, application-specific systems that exceed customer expectations,’ said Fred Kohout, chief marketing officer for Tagsys.
‘We performed extensive testing and evaluation of various readers, and Sirit’s INfinity 510 platform was clearly the type of product we want to deliver to our customers in terms of performance, reliability, and reader management capabilities.’
Tony Sabetti, vice president of RF Solutions at Sirit, added: ‘We are pleased to reach the agreement with Tagsys that leverages each company’s strengths and core competencies.
’Tagsys’ products and powerful e-connectware software lead the way in RFID applications for several key markets, such as fashion and pharmaceuticals, and we look forward to further developing our relationship.’
