First coupler for CC-Link to PROFINET

24 September 2017

Following the announcement by PI (PROFIBUS and PROFINET International) and CLPA (CC-Link Partner Association) of a jointly-developed coupler specification to link PROFINET and CC-Link networks, Hilscher has confirmed that a new product will be launched mid-2018 to help CC-Link and PROFINET interoperate.

The Hilscher coupler, which will form part of the company’s netTAP 151 family, will work as a slave on both sides towards the PROFINET and CC-Link IE networks. Its key functionality will be to allow both network masters to interoperate with each other. It will enable plant manufacturers with CC-LINK IE networked machines to map their data transparently in overlaying PROFINET networks, and will allow the mapping of data from PROFINET machines to CC-Link IE.
