Mitsubishi stretches out

19 September 2007

BPX, Mitsubishi Electric’s technology partner, has acquired Prolocon Systems to boost services in the London, UK area.

Mitsubishi said the purchase of the Hatfield, UK equipment supplier will offer OEMs and end-users in North London and the Home Counties BPX’s automation and engineering expertise.

The move adds a seventh branch to BPX’s expanding UK coverage, joining operations in Leicester, Nottingham, Wakefield, Slough, Newcastle-under-Lyme and Northampton.

Paul Judge, business development manager at BPX, said: “We are now ‘local’ to the greatest population density in the Home Counties and to the highest concentration of industries.”

Roger Payne, divisional manager for Mitsubishi Automation Systems Division, added: “We are delighted that Prolocon and BPX have joined forces; both are staffed by hard working professionals whose technical and applications knowledge are second to none.”
