Ex position switches with analogue output

05 January 2016

Instead of using conventional ‘on/off’ technology the Ex HS 98 position switch from steute emits an analogue signal which corresponds to the position of the actuator or plunger, detected by an integrated Hall sensor.

Depending on the variant chosen, the Extreme sensor supplies the output signal in one of the three established standards 0--20mA, 4-20mA or 0-10V.

The position switch features a robust, anti-corrosive, aluminium housing with a stainless steel lid, high protection classes and dimensions fulfilling the DIN EN 50041 standard.

The explosion-proof 98 HS variant is ATEX/IECEx-approved for use in gas Ex zones 1 and 2, as well as dust Ex zones 21 and 22. Its combination of features makes the sensor suitable for use in applications such as the precise position monitoring of flaps, valves and other control elements installed in explosive environments.
