Continuous level measurement solution for liquids and slurries

13 November 2015

Siemens has expanded its ultrasonic level transmitter portfolio with the addition of the Sitrans LU150, a non-contacting ultrasonic transmitter with a range of up to 5m. The sensor and electronics are combined within a single, compact, unit which is suitable for use in continuous level measurement applications for liquids and slurries in open or closed vessels.

The IP68 rated transmitter features a rugged, fully encapsulated PVDF sensor that is resistant to corrosion, chemicals and shock. The device has been designed, primarily, for use in the water, wastewater and energy management industry.

With only two cables to be connected, the unit can be quickly installed while its two key interface is said to make it simple to configure and easy to use. Sonic Intelligence signal processing software delivers reliable measurement readings by differentiating, for example, between the true material level and false echoes.
